Hi everyone, I'm Lauréan Tardif, videographer and photographer from Quebec City. I am currently in Utah with my fellow videographers and photographers. We always drag a lot, a lot of equipment to do our shoots, so I thought today: why not take you to an iconic place in Utah and show you what's in my camera bag!
What's in my camera bag?
First of all, my Sony a7 IV camera, a great camera for photography and video. It is perfect for our team, especially when travelling.
On the lens side, I mainly use the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM; I love the versatility of this lens, the compression and the bokeh (the blur). It's great for landscapes as well as for products, as well as for lifestyle...
So much for my main setup.
I also have a spare camera. You'll see, I used it this morning, it's my Sony a7 III, with a Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM, too. This camera is mainly used for timelapse.
Then, super nice lens format: the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS, a jewel as much for compression, as for getting texture details in incredible landscapes. It is a must have.

Too often we think that it's a portrait lens and that it's a little less applicable to landscape, but we really like to go for compression with the subjects, to go for textures.

Last but not least, my little baby, of course, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro* (*the DJI Mavic 2 Pro from Lauréan is now discontinued).
So it's really important to communicate, especially from a distance. We use walkie-talkies to facilitate this.
So that's what concludes our "shoot" this morning. We were really spoiled by the nature. We were entitled to a completely incredible sunrise with a light to cut the breath. We shot with a diverse range of lenses. So, from the very wide angle to the telephoto lens to really capture a range of textures, details, landscapes. We also alternated with the drone.
As for me, I take the road for the next spot in Utah! See you!

Three Videographers in the Desert
June 2019 – that was our last trip together. Obviously, the plan was not to wait 3 years before going back to work internationally, but we didn't really have another choice as you can imagine. However, as soon as the pandemic situation had stabilized, we decided to leave. We were looking for a wow place, for a breathtaking destination. We really wanted to come back with some great content, so we needed nothing less than unique landscapes, as our last trip to Iceland offered.
