Fujifilm Canada put the brand-new Fujifilm X-T5 in the hands of Jean-Thomas Philippe, advisor at our Laval store, before its official launch so that we could try it out and tell you about it.

A real return to the roots for the Fujifilm X-T series
We really wanted to offer a camera that will please the fans of the brand or simply those who appreciate its "vintage" side. The body is slimmer and more compact, which will certainly charm the travellers!
As we tour the Fujifilm X-T5, we find the three original Fujifilm wheels – ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation.
Also featured: two SD memory card compartments, a three-inch articulated screen with 1.84 million pixel points, very bright in very high light outdoors, as well as a very high resolution electronic viewfinder, with 5.76 million points!
Common points with the Fujifilm X-H2
The device share some of the greatest features of the Fujifilm X-H2. We are talking about the X Processor 5, in addition to having a 40.2 megapixel sensor, the eye detection autofocus, also subjects such as planes, trains and bikes, which are now offered in the Fujifilm X-T5.
Some perks for photographers!
Very big improvement: it offers a better autonomy with 740 photos, which can be taken with a single NP-W235 battery charge, compared to the Fujifilm X-T4 which was 500 photographs.
In burst mode, with the mechanical shutter, we go to 15 images per second with the mechanical shutter and 20 images per second with the electronic shutter.
In addition, there are 19 Fujifilm film simulations and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
What about video?
We have the possibility to shoot in 6.2K at 30 frames per second in 1080p at 240 frames per second, to have a nice detailed slow motion, and this in the age of time, in 4:2:2 10 bits, to have a very nice dynamic in the colours.
Following the market trend, as in video, there is the option, inside, to put in webcam mode in 4K / 60, which allows you to connect the device to a computer and make it a quality camera as a webcam.
In sum
Fujifilm has released an X-T5 resolutely intended for photography, but with great possibilities in video.
Street, travel, bird and airplane photographers will really enjoy this camera which is very compact and weatherproof.
Less space in the bag and less weight – 557 grams with battery – it's the ideal camera for travelling light!
