GR IIIx Urban Edition Digital Camera
GR IIIx Urban Edition Digital Camera
$1,429.00

Ricoh Imaging is pleased to announce the launch of the RICOH GR IIIx Urban Edition Camera.
The GR IIIx Urban Edition has all the features of the standard GR IIIx model plus new functions, including Snap Distance Priority mode*, a new exposure setting and Auto Area AF (Center) focus mode*.

The RICOH GR IIIx Urban Edition is finished in metallic gray and accented by a navy blue ring around the lens barrel. This unique exterior finish requires a multi-coat process, which results in the camera’s distinctive appearance and smooth texture. The coating also helps to make it easier for a photographer to get a firm grip on the camera.
* These functions are also available for the standard GR IIIx model with the installation of function expansion firmware.

The RICOH GR IIIx has been developed in response to user requests for a new GR-series camera that will add a new perspective to the highly acclaimed RICOH GR III. The GR III was released in March 2019, featuring a 28mm wide-angle lens and designed to further enhance the essential values of the GR-series: optimizing image quality, snapshot capabilities and portability. The newly designed 26.1mm GR lens provides a 40mm angle of view in the 35mm format, close to the photographer’s own effective field of view. Depending on the way the lens is used, this versatile angle of view can create different image renditions: you can capture an image similar to those taken at a 30mm semi-wide angle, or create a completely different visual expression as if taken at a 50mm standard angle. The camera also provides a range of new and upgraded post-shooting functions to edit captured images to the photographer’s preference.

MAIN FEATURES:

Special Finish
The RICOH GR IIIx Urban Edition camera body is accented by a navy blue ring around the lens barrel. This colour was selected to represent typical street shooter imagery such as deep blue skies reflected in a puddle following a rainfall or the bright neon signs of a never-sleeping city. The camera body is finished in metallic gray, reminiscent of the gritty tones of the urban landscape. This unique exterior finish requires a multi-coat process, which results in the camera’s distinctive appearance and smooth texture. The coating also helps to make it easier for a photographer to get a firm grip on the camera.

Snap Distance Priority mode*
With this new exposure setting, once the preferred distance for snapshots and the desired depth of field (DOF) are set in advance, the camera lets the user quickly and easily recall these settings. This setting is programmed to select the aperture, providing the depth of field used in pan-focus photography, making it particularly handy for quick snapshot photography.

Auto Area AF (Center) focus mode*
Instead of covering the entire image field, this mode operates only in nine focus zones around the center of the image field, preventing the camera from focusing on unintended elements, such as a grassy field in the foreground of an image.

Additional new Functions*
Enable AF mode has been added to the shutter-button settings. When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway down, the user can lock the AF system only, without locking the AE system. A distance setting of 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) has been added to the Snapshot mode; and a long press on the monitor during playback allows the user to instantly recall the playback function selection menu.
* These functions are also available for the standard GR IIIx model with the installation of function expansion firmware.

Shutdown Screen - Exclusive to GRIIIx Urban Edition
When the camera’s power is turned off, the camera displays an original shut-down screen featuring the product logo and a streetview image symbolizing the urban-oriented concept.
